Conflict Line Result Summaries
Advantages
-
Flurry: Gives all characters on affected side two attacks
per turn.
-
Inspiration: Removes effects of K/O and shock damage, plus each
character may draw one card and add it to their hand.
-
Up: Gives all characters on affected side an additional roll
to add to action, plus cancels effects of a stymie.
Disadvantages
-
Break: Only affects villains: damaged villains will flee or
concede if unable to damage characters by the end of the round.
-
Confused: Only affects heroes: no player may activate cards from
pool, although they may still draw a card.
-
Fatigued: Each character takes 2 shock points from fatigue, stress,
fear or shock.
-
Setback: Prevents affected side from taking action this round to
harm opponents. Also may result in running out of bullets, arrival of reinforcements,
abilities or equipment from other cosms failing for one round, or the environment
itself is the cause of a problem.
-
Stymied: Loses chance to roll again for one action, including rolling
on 20s. Cancels effects of an up.
-
Unskilled: Base score for attribute used instead of skill level.
In addition the affected individuals lose roll-again on 20s for Possibility-rated
characters and and roll-again on 10s for Ords.
Reality Storms Summarized
-
Opponents must be different realities.
-
Effects of conflict lines are not read for the people involved in a duel,
but remain for everyone else currently fighting.
-
Characters in their home cosm receive a +3 bonus to their reality for the
storm.
-
Reality rolls are compared; the number by which the winner beats the loser
is read on the storm table.
-
A negative number result means that many possibilities are taken away from
the loser.
-
If a maelstrom result is achieved, the storm will stop growing, and the
winner of each round adds the drained possibilities from the opponent to
themselves (loser still drains).
-
Card trading is not possible, though the characters involved can play cards
in their pool and use possibilities to enhance rolls.
